bullet  General Notes:

We regret to record the death which occured on Sunday of Mrs Henrietta Rigby, wife of Mr Fred Rigby, of 37 Market Place, Hyde, partner of the firm of H Rigby and Sons, painters and decorators of Hyde and Dukinsfield. She had been in impaired health since early October, but had been able to get about a little before. She was taken seriously ill towards last weekend.
Fortytwo years of age, Mrs Rigby was a native of Whitley Bay. She came to Dukinfield about twenty years ago, and moved to Hyde with her husband about sevenreen years ago. She took charge of the retail business in Maket Place. She was a very capable and obliging business woman, and possessed of exceedingly good taste, and her genial nature made her many friends both inside and outside of business, and news of her death came as a shock to many people. To her husband and four daughters ,whose ages range from thirteen years to six months, sincere sympathy is extended.
Before her marriage she was identified with St. Johns church Dukinfield, and since coming to Hyde she has been identifired with St Thomas' church and school.
She has taken a deep interest in the work of the Hyde Chamber of Trade, and up to a short time before her death she was a member of the Executive Committee. She was an active and highly esteemed member of the Social Committee of the Chamber, and was in many directions a supporter of good causes in the town
